these are 2 games within 2 days, why is it that my normal mmr is so random?
I know its only normal games, but it feels kinda bad when one game you are vs new players and one game you are getting stomped by high diamond players.
You are assuming you know your MMR when you actually have no idea what it is.
Also just because they are challenger in ranked doesn't mean their MMR in normals is also challenger.
Riot added the new positional MMR system to normal draft. Maybe that causes these big differences.
It can happen...Normal and Ranked MMR isn't the same. So if a Challenger doesn't touch norms its safe to assume they'll be low on the tier list. You don't see it often because High tiers tend to stay in ranked unless ranked is down for some reason.
Were they partied together? I often see some huge differences in norm games when a new player is partied up with their friend who has lots of experience. When you have a level 5 account playing with a level 100 account and so then the other side ends up with similar crazy stuff going on.
While I do see huge variation on both sides in some games, I do not see that as much if one side is balanced. If one side is all Gold, then usually the other side is pretty balanced as well. I wonder if there is something in the match making that sees when there is a large variation on one team because of parties that it tries to have that same variation on both teams.
