Range to receive gold from tower kills

Does anyone know the max range you can be away from a tower to receice the local gold? Just wondering how far i can stand away from a tower killed by my minions but still get the local gold reward, because letting your minions to die to the tower while they take it helps deny the enemy laner farm and setting up a freeze near their tier 2 tower
