Howling Abyss after 5.16
So let's ignore the fact that Mark/Dash is still crippling ARAM games in my opinion, lets take a look at the recent buffs to some of our 'least' favorite champions.
I'm going to start with
who is honestly one of my favorite champions and the first champion I ever learned to play. For Summoners Rift this was long overdue and made Garen into something more than a 50/50 chance of getting someone with all damage and no health, or all tank and no damage. Now he can build a couple of good damage items and then get tanky along with his new W to help him trade better. The downside to this is that not only was Garen already a major bully in ARAM games before, he's become the new

of old. You see him on your team and start trying to trade for him or praying that who ever got him has half a brain, meanwhile the enemy team is yelling at people to stop focusing him because he is tanky, yet he still walks away with a triple kill laughing as his carries get focused. Add in the M/D and crit spins, and you have the ultimate in a dive, kill, walk away champion that no one wants to play against.
That brings me to
, who I can honestly say was long over due for some love. I like his new kit, he has become the pocket pick OP of jungles in Silver on Summoners Rift, people are still confused by what his crystals do and don't know up or down about him because almost everyone has ignored him for so long because he was just out classed for seasons. I think the Summoners Rift Skarner needs a little bit of tweaking overall to balance him a bit better where he doesn't just become the unkillable thing that laughs as you are forced to stack all your CC on him to keep your carry safe. ARAM Skarner needs a little bit more though, because of his new passive, he gains almost total dominance of the map because of how BIG the crystal zones are. I honestly think that shrinking up at least to a certain point to give you some more out play options where he doesn't just hit six by sitting in his zone spitting Fractures at them. Of the 4 or so Skarners I have seen on ARAM now, most wait til level 6, walk up and Impale someone, drag them back, proc Fracture for a stun and then laugh as the other 4 people kill them while the enemy team sits at their tower because to walk at Skarner is to get stomped on at this point with the large area and the buff he gets from just sitting in the middle of the lane.
As far as the new
goes, well I'm still trying to wrap my head around AD, duo lane Mordekaiser. I don't see TOO much diffrence in the ARAM Mord other than making sure you build the right resistances to him so as not to get blown up in a couple of shots. He's more or less still the same Mord, just with a new outlook on how he kills you.
TL;DR Even if they are minor nerfs that are needed, something needs to be done about Garen's dominance in ARAM and Skarners Crystal size on Howling Abyss as well. I can't say anything to Summoners Rift, but I like what Riot did, they just need to balance it for those of us that don't like playing on the Rift!
