So i and that dude was talking about how riot could change Crit in that post, What do you think ?
We was talking about how Crit as status how it could be changed into a better thing that could make game healthy and better.
So we talked about how can Riot change Crit from the RNG power spike to something looking like Ashe passive crit effect, in other words what if the Crit was more like of a scaling Armor pen % that increase along the higher crit chance you got.
First of all we roll back
to old version but with little trick where the extra 50% more damage apply only once you passed 50% crit chance.
And Crit work like that, instead of you getting RNG of putting an extra damage during Crit AA you will get extra armor pen % against targets you hit depend on the Crit %.
What that mean the ADC damage will purely be focused on cutting tankers which what is their main role after all and in same time it will limit down the ADC burst down a squishy.

So let's say we got
that got like 60% Crit chance +
, she will get like extra 50% damage cause she passed the 50% Crit chance plus for every 2% of her crit chance she will get 1% Armor pen = 30% Armor pen.
Now how that would possible make game better ? First of all if we removed Conquer from game the Tankers will come back slowly into game and they by default unkillable by mages, assassin and divers which will make a room for adc to come back in meta since they can build crit and just get a free armor pen that allow them to melt the tankers.
And when you introduce a new way for ADC to get armor pen like that and kill the chance of RNG of crits, you will get 4 things :
- First ADC would be able to have 2 options either to get more armor pen by using
and
if the enemy team was heavy tankers or they could go for more defensive options since
isn't a must now against semi tanky team cause crit will give you enough armor pen. - That would kill the RNG of playing crit ADC, Unlucky ADC enemy in 10 seconds while lucky ADC killed enemy in 3 seconds while using the new system of crit that give armor pen would give you the middle ground of killing enemy for sure in 6 seconds.
etc won't be able to abuse crit items anymore since it doesn't give extra damage unless you pass 50% crit chance.- Now every role will have it job for real and it will kill the mage/assassin/diver bot lane meta,cause by default all mages/divers/assassin can't deal with tanker so without adc on team your team will mostly lose cause they can't handle tankers.
Which bring me to the fact when you have 2 ways of accessing armor pen, one by flat amount like
etc you will allow assassin to be assassin and kill squishy only and they could use
and
if needed to deal with tanky teams while Crit ADC will be the only option to kill tankers since crit give them extra flat damage and for every 2% crit chance you got you will get free armor pen that help them to make their job better than anyone else.
To summon it up, i think the best way to fix the current status of game is by killing Conquer and remove it from game while chancing crit from RNG element to more of Armor Pen % that give you extra damage after you pass 50% crit chance. It will bring back tankers and it will make adc come back by default, and if tankers are back assassin and divers will slowly be balanced.
I don't know what you would think about such system, but yah.
