Thoughts on Pyke
Now that Pyke has been out for a few days now, people are starting to get familiar with his play style and build path. Before I even start saying my thoughts on him, I think he's a cool champion and is fun to play. With that aside, I feel Pyke slightly missed the mark with his champion identity. He's supposed to be an assassin who can share gold/xp with nearby allies. In reality, it seems as he is a utility champion who just builds for the team and occasionally "kill secures" a kill to share the gold. The success that I've seen personally and from statistic of other players playing him, they all seem to go Aftershock with utility items like
into
, then probably a damage item. I'm not saying an assassin cannot go utility items with a defensive keystone, but most assassins take Thunderlords and build strictly damage. The games I've seen him go either build path (strictly damage or utility), he generally does only about 10k - 12k damage. I know if they buff his base damage or reduce his cooldowns by 2 seconds, he'll move away from the support role and would most likely be played as a jungler or mid laner, so idk how I feel about his current itemization.
