Star Guardian Token Missions

So, it seems like it's impossible to do these without a premade 5? I'm curious what the intent was here. It sorta leaves a lot of players out in the cold. Personally, I try to /mute all every game. I would rather castrate myself with a cheese grater than treat league as a social experience, for reasons that are I am sure obvious to everyone.

So is there a particular reason? Is there a way to repeat the non-5 man missions? Because otherwise frankly this event seems like a huge grind for a comparatively insignificant reward compared to previous events. Just feels very lackluster, plus forces 5 man groups. I don't really get it.
