Kindred Tweaks

Kindred is becoming more viable with the new runes, however there is much room for improvement. Instead of out right buffing their damage, which I doubt Riot balancing would ever consider doing, I suggest adding in some buffs in the form of consistency.

  1. Give kindred a decreasing grace period on their PvE marks where only they and their team can see their hunt marks on the minimap. It's bad enough that Kindred's Mini-game is there for everyone to see, but to give them no advantage in their scaling is ridiculous. There's already a large delay on PvP targets, don't punish Kindred for trying to be viable mid to late game when other champions have faster clears and scale naturally much harder. Such as J4, Graves, Vi, and Xin Zhao.

    For example:

  • 1-2 stacks 15 sec headstart
  • 3-5 stacks 10 second headstart
  • 6+ stacks 0 second headstart
  1. Increase Kindred's base movement speed from 325 to 335. For having to constantly move area to area, Kindred is in the 2nd lowest tier of base movement in the game. Not counting an unmounted Kled. Janna is the only one in the lowest tier of base movement speed. Bringing them up to 335 movement speed will put them into the tier of other great roamers such as Twisted Fate, Lucian, Azir, Rek'sai, and Warwick.

  2. Increase Kindred's Dancing Arrows (Q) tumble distance by 20 units and decrease the projectile bloom on their Dancing Arrows by 20 units so that no advantage other than mobility is gained. This will ensure that wall jumps that they can pull off are more successful. There are many places that Kindred -can- leap over, but they require such pixel perfect precision that they are not viable in actual play. 20 units of increased range will allow the more tricky jumps to be completed with practice. Teemo is 100 units across for reference.

  3. Decrease the base cooldown on Dancing Arrows (Q) by 2 seconds. From 9 seconds to 7. A 9 second cooldown is too punishing for a bread-and-butter skill. I agree Dancing Arrows is a powerful positioning and damage ability, however 7 seconds can do that just fine.

I believe with these buffs that Kindred will be in a stronger place, without being dependent on a core gameplay rework such as the Runes Reforged patch. It is not fair to a champion to rely so heavily on a transient balance decision to be playable.
