New announcer is terribad

Personally, I think the worst part about this is that whichever negative reactions players have to this announcer are simply going to be picked up by Riot as an excuse not to sell announcer packs. We've already received wishy-washy excuses about how Riot didn't want to do those because of mixed player responses in the past, and this will only feed into that problem. This announcer's not great, and tbh SG Ahri was kinda cringy at times too, but Gangplank and Thresh were pretty unanimously well-received. Considering how announcer packs would only change the announcer for the player selecting them, these less popular announcers should never be held as an obstacle, and in spite of this new one, I think there's still an opportunity to be had. If nothing else, Riot has the audio assets for a few announcers already, so putting them on the store would be easy money.

TL;DR: This announcer's not great, but previous announcers have been awesome, and many of us would pay good money to bring them back for ourselves individually. Please and thank you.

I was physically ill upon hearing it. "UH OH! THE ENEMY SCORED A KILL ON YOUR TEAM, #FEELSBADMAN" fucking christ i cringed.

I disabled it ASAP. The only good ones were Thresh and GP.

I mean... I might like it if I was a stereotypical twelve year old, but I find it saying "you can't spell spree without REEEEEEE" and a lot of the other lines both annoying and unfunny. I'm not offended by it or really bothered much but it seems rather... uncompany-like to do this officially.

the EUW announcer pack is really good, Sjokz and Quickshot do a good job

Some of the lines REEEEEALY annoying. For example that things before minions spawn. He keeps talking and talking. "Do minions have homes? Where do they come?" JUST STFU FFS! You are announcer not annoyencer!

NA got the short end of the stick, CloudTemplar and Quickshot's are arguably much better.

Isn't the new announcer Phreak?

Makes me truly appreciate just how much better dota casters are. Unfortunately, when you have such a death grip on your pro play that you have to lobotomize your casters this is the quality you get.

Imagine not knowing who phreakd is (the vast majority of the player base) and all of a sudden you hear these terrible memes in game. Really poorly thought idea.

I'm on EUW so we have Quickshot and Sjokz and I gotta say I really like it, I was confused at first and thought it was Xayah and Rakan announcing for some reason lol. Then again I really dislike the default announcer and just hope they hurry up and let us buy a different announcer pack. I'd probably snatch up the Gangplank one in a heartbeat (especially if it comes with that butcher's bridge theme, Rito pls!)

Just me and my bitter old man pinion, but I already hate how Riot shoves E-Sports down the player's throats at every opportunity, I don't need to hear "sportsy banter" thrown into my ears on top of everything else.

These announcers are godawful. They're super frat-bro, and takes a game full of geeks and nerds and makes them feel like they're being talked down to by some pop-collared blonde football junkie. Or like this is some Youtube video where the idiot narrator can't let you appreciate the content he's reviewing because he's obnoxiously talking over it. I turned it off pretty quick. I tried to give it another shot, but again, just no. They needed to have laid low on the memes and obnoxiousness, and given us a more professional VO if they must give us some eSports people narrating.
