Can anyone explain this to me? I've been seeing it more and more. It forces a lack of damage, even if you get a bunch of Rend stacks off. It puts you at a severe disadvantage when trading with the enemy adc with supports like Thresh becoming popular again as he can lock you down. I mean, sure it allows more Martial Stance. I just don't understand why any Kalista would rush this, over an IE/BT. Can anyone explain, please?

It works really well if you're snowballing in lane.

Max E and it does a good amount of damage.

TBH I think it comes down to personal preference - you can build kalista a lot of different ways, and thus you can play her a lot of different ways. Runaan's build is like the super mobile rend stacker. You can go for a Q sniper build, or the OP AA build... All are viable so play however you prefer.

I like to rush item 3006 then item 3031 item 3046 and max Q first

The massive amount of attack speed on it also translates into mobility for her as well. If you're ahead you could definitely abuse the other duo, but if you're behind you might as well transition into something else so you can be useful sooner. She's really flexible in terms of build path, just go with whatever works for you.
