Can I please just face solo players of similar mmr in ranked

I haven't played that many games so far in plat but a lot of them have featured trios on the other team. There will usually be two plats and a low gold in the trio, and my team will be full of plat 4s and 5s, maybe sometimes 3s. Do they do this because they know they will be facing low plats instead of diamonds? For instance, if a trio of plats queued up, they would most likely face at least one if not two diamond players. Frankly it has me pretty annoyed. Games are just so random and the mmr is all over the place. As a solo player I really just want to play against other solo players of similar mmr (maybe some duos from time to time) but i have seen like 4 or 5 trios and a quad so far in my 12 games in plat. Is this what it is going to be like from now on?
