Match Making in normals?

why is it that league cant figure this out? im playing normals and im low silver and regularly face golds and plats and even seen diamonds. this shouldnt be a hard thing to balance out a little. when im trying to learn to a new champ and face people that are that level im always behind and never have a chance to really play and learn the champ. pls help rito

ranked mmr has nothing to do with normal mmr. There are plenty of possibilities that might make you play with people in higher skill levels than you in normals, for one some people just dont play normals so when they jump into a normal its based around the average mmr (which is around mid silver), or they might only play normals with their friends which might be silver players thus keeping their mmr lower than it should.

Overall normals are not intended to be super balanced in matchmaking (because that is kinda what ranked is for) but they still try to keep it somewhat balanced just for game health.

They have to seperate the mmr for normals and ranked so it happens.

As for learning a new champ in normals, it isn't the worse thing to learn while being behind. Lets you practice farming accurately at a disadvantage; map awareness; and focus more on abilities.

I would say it is worse to actually stomp someone while trying to learn because you will get frustrated when you meet a better player.
