... people will still not use it, mostly because why should they bother themselves with doing an extra objective when they can just make towers crumble by giving them a mean look.

You could just leave Herald on the previous level, but instead double tower hp and resistances, and people would beat each other so hard over who gets to use the big mean Rambo crab. Give people an actual reason why they want to use it, instead of buffing it and packing even MORE damage into the game. because like this it just feels like a generic extra, instead of an integral part of the game.

No one would ask "why is this thing in the game" when it was a tool that was actually needed by the players. But as it is right now, it's just some extra thing for "winning harder" than you are already winning.
