How does norms mmr work?

For some reason I keep getting matched with platinum and diamond players and I assure you I am silver/gold at best. It's rather irritating getting shit on over and over again. How does this work? How can I get back to where I belong?

I am STILL facing diamond and platinum players. I'm getting sick of it.

If you are queuing with a friend, then you increase your chances of a mismatch. if your team contains any premade groups, then you increase your chances of a mismatch (even if you yourself entered solo).

If a player with high MMR (in Ranked) starts to play norms after a 3 month hiatus, then he'll wind up in low MMR norms, and it may take 100 matches for MMR to catch up.

If 4 Platinum players include a new player on their team, then they might be matched against a team of all Bronze. The chances of this happening is much higher in Blind, however.

if in your team there is somone with duo with higher division than u ull most probably get higher division enemies aswell. Sometimes usually at night time when its harder to find matchups you might get higher elos in your team or enemy.

For example me at night iam D1 right now and iam getting matched with Masters , Grandmasters , And chalenger. Its really anoying i know

a lot of people go straight into ranked when they hit 30

which means their norms MMR is the same as when they first started ranked

OR, if they're challenger or high diamond players and not on their main, they probably buy fresh unranked accounts

I feel you. At my lowest point, when I was maybe 30% winrate while silver, I still had to play against plats. A bit more transparency from Riot would be lovely. I don't see the harm in telling people how MMR works.

Matchmaking works the same in normal as it does in ranked (ignoring alt detection). It's just separate.
