Things you need to work on in preseason.

I can't believe i'm tilted enough to make this thread but the amount of basic things people completely disregard is astounding. I've been noticing this in every match since the preseason hit that people have gotten just flat out stupid in the game. Figured i'd make this thread to help some of those things come into light and hopefully have less ignorance when next season comes around so the game is more enjoyable.

  1. Map awareness. Something you should learn within the first 3 levels completely ignored. I see it all the time, someone goes to ward a bush. Gets back to their lane and never looks in that direction again. Enemies will run past that ward constantly and an ally may even ping it, but they will not realize it till it's too late.

  2. Understanding the difference between scalings and damage type This one has been an annoying thing people have never seem to understood. People tend to completely disregard a persons damage type confusing it for scalings. For example, Ezreal. People think just because he builds all Physical damage items they don't need to build any Mr items. This is WRONG. Most of his abilities (I think his Q is the only physical one i'm not 100% sure) deal MAGIC DAMAGE, they SCALE off both types though. When you build pure armor and an ezreal hits you with his abilities and you wonder why it does so much damage it's because you didn't build to counter his damage type.

  3. Learning how to form a team comp This baffles me that people still don't understand this, this is basic in any MOBA or team based game really. This isn't overwatch, you can't change mid-game so your pick is final. If you see your team lacks a tank, and you are top or jng or supp don't pick another squishy champ. Adjust. OTP's tend to get the main heat from this due to refusing to cooperate. It's fine to have a main, but have a least 1 other backup that's opposite to that main to adjust for your team. If you main a squishy burst champ, have a backup tank champ in case your team needs it and vise versa. The amount of times I see someone pick a sona or soraka when they have a kalista adc..my god

  4. Knowing your champ I didn't even realize how little people (even mains) understood about their champs. If you're playing a late game champ, don't go balls deep all the time in the early game and wonder why you lose fights. If you're playing an early game champ, don't play as passively as possible against an enemy that can and will outscale you the more you let them farm. I see this mainly with caitlyns more than any other champ. People will pick her and refuse to put on any pressure. She's a lane bully that's why she has traps and so much range. Play to your champs strengths instead of waiting for their weaknesses.

  5. Objective Pressure This is mainly directed at junglers, LEARN TO PRESSURE THE MAP. As an ex-jungle main (might come back due to laning sucking so hard with the new runes) this irritates me more than most things. If you see the enemy jungler top lane doing nothing but spamming emotes and mastery while your top laner is under tower full hp. Don't run all the way top lane just to say hi then leave. Counter jungle, get dragon, gank bot/mid lane. Do anything but waste your time farming your own jungle when you can do that any time. Same goes for if the enemy is bot lane. Go get rift herald, gank top, steal their buff. Do SOMETHING. When you farm your own jungle you aren't putting on ANY map pressure. This allows the enemy to play aggressively with no punishment. This allows them to get further ahead and become harder to beat. For those farming junglers (like yi or jax or kayle etc.) I understand you need items to become god mode. That's fine but don't farm just your jungle. Go counter jungle, ward the enemies jungle. Make it so they are losing something when they aren't there.
