Why the swain ban ?

Just wanted to know your opinion about swain, as a swain main of course im a bit mad about this nerf that for me make no sence. I dont think swain was even a good mid before the nerf he has bad range except for his snared , has no mobility, pretty bad wave clear and long cooldowns. I know he is strong in fight beacause he got good damage and sustain but i mean he is so weak in lane against good wave clear champs or assasins that can roam and push way more .. also can fall really bad if the game is not going well so i dont know.. i'm pretty sure that many champions would have need a nerf instead of swain..

Swain was the only mage I played until 3 days ago when I got Vladimir. I got to level 5 with Swain and I have to agree with you 100%. The nerf to his W makes no sense. It's long cool down should be enough to compensate the snare duration. With so many champs that could have been nerfed a tiny bit, they pick on swain. They could have at least made his AA animation better to compensate...
