In your opinion what champion rework was the best?

I'm not entirely sure. Even though I don't play him I thought the Galio rework was pretty solid. I also think Fiora was pretty good. Although balance was an issue initially.

Evelynn Mixed bag. She needed a better ult than her old one and, for the most part, I like her new kit and especially her look. But I hate the fact that the rework eliminated AD Eve entirely.

Fiora Undecided. I didn't play much of the old Fiora and I don't like having to reposition constantly just to deal optimum damage against my tagets; so, I don't much care for either the old or new Fiora.

Galio The new Galio is a much needed improvement on the old one and I do like the fact that he retained some elements from his original kit.

Gangplank I don't like what he is nowadays. His kit relies too much on placing barrels and timing detonating them just right. I want him to be a pirate king again, not Wile E. Coyote.

Heimerdinger One of the best reworks in my opinion. I don't remember much of the old Heim, but I do know he's far better than what he used to be.

Irelia She was boring and didn't live up to her lore as some psychic blade wielding warrior. Now she's a mechanical mess both to play as and to play against. And I cannot imagine having to balance her every now and again just to keep her on the fine line between unbearably broken and impossible to play.

Karma I have no opinion on this one. I own the champion, but I've never, not once, ever played her.

Kayle Old Kayle was boring, but it's been a while since I've played her and I've little to no clue as to what she does now. So, I can't really judge her at this juncture.

Nunu This one graduated from being the troll every team feared having on their side to the duo that sends enemy teams running scared else be crushed and sploded by ice. So, I like the new one.

Poppy The old poppy was boring. The new one is interesting at least, but I still don't enjoy playing her. She's moderately more fun than what she used to be, but not something I can bring myself to enjoy regularly.

RekSai She needed a new ult and that's what she got. She really didn't need anything else and that's what makes her rework an outstanding example. Giving a champion what it needs without gutting it and starting from scratch.

Ryze I don't think there is a solution for this mechanical abomination known as a champion. He's gone through more reworks than a catholic Hispanic woman has gone through pregnancies and he still isn't quite right.

Shen I absolutely hate the new Shen. He hardly looks any different from the old one and his ultimate is another one of those "nerf it into oblivion because pro circuits". He feels like a downgrade from what he used to be with difficulty added on top of this pile just for the hell of it.

Sion I didn't own or play Sion prior to his rework; so, I can't offer much of an opinion on what he used to be. I do enjoy him in his current state, however; so, riot must have done something right with this one.

Swain I remember when Swain was a meme for making it to plat easily if they could master him, a difficult challenge in and of itself. I tried him for myself prior to his rework and I really didin't enjoy him. I tried him again with his new kit and it's pretty cool-looking and interesting...an improvement on his old kit. But still not my style.

Taric Oh...my...god. Taric was quite possibly the most boring champion in the entire history of game while also being one of the ugliest. Riot's rework turned him into the exact opposite of that. An interesting and fun support to play who is simply outrageous.

Trundle Riot didn't really change much about Trundle. Thing is, he got his rework, I believe, because his skin sales were lower than Galio's play rate (budumtch). Seriously though, the guy was uglier than sin and his backstory was all about how his people were dying of a plague and he was some miracle child that could absorb the disease into his body, causing him great suffering without killing him...I don't know. It was just gross and ugly and depressing. So he got a new lore and a new look and now he's popular and has friends and may even be getting some action on the side with Lissandra (I kid).

Warwick "Can't gank until 6." Anyone remember that? Old Warwick turned games into 4v5's for the first 10 minutes. Sounds bad nowadays when games are decided by that point, but this was back when games actually had a chance of going past the 20 minute mark. I know, ridiculous as it sounds, it's true! Despite the fact we had longer games, this still wasn't healthy. The new Warwick was and is a much needed improvement over the old one.

Yorick Old Yorick could summon ghosts...I guess. And his ult made it so that if the target died, they could move and attack and use abilities for a few seconds; so, it was basically a slightly better Karthus passive but with a cooldown. That's all I know about the old one other than the fact almost no one played him except the infrequent Yorick main who just wanted to show off their skin. He wasn't interesting or impressive. The new Yorick, however, is straight up terrifying with his split pushing power. Do not let this guy go unchecked, people. Though, it is fun when I sometimes do it. In short, he got a good rework.

Zilean They gave him better bombs.

Zyra She didn't have an all too impressive passive, especially for a support. On death, Z turned into this weird plant thing and then the player could shoot a missile in a direction for some okay-ish damage. So, she got some mini rework that fixed this problem.

I think Warwick and Nunu & Willump were pretty good ones. The reason is it took their old playstyles and expanded them to work with the current game. I feel that’s what reworks should do.

I also really like Swain. It’s a little different than old swain but it still does the in the mix battle mage style. He was my favorite champ before the rework and still currently puts a smile on my face.

Good Reworks: Warwick Solid rework that keeps a lot of aspects of Warwicks old kit, while at the same time making it fresh and more interactive to use, which is what all reworks should do. Evelynn I never really played the old Eve, but this rework personally I feel as if it was pretty solid, and managed to make her into a champion that's balanced, not too strong overall but still can be deadly when played by one tricks. Nunu Same reasoning as Warwick, kept aspects of old kit while making it more fun and interactive than just pressing E every 5 seconds. XinZhao Personally, I loved this rework. He's still simple to play and easy to use like the old Xin, but made more fun to use and with new mechanics that skilled players can make use of. Ezreal Blitzcrank MonkeyKing Teemo Although not all of them are out yet, these minireworks that Riot has been doing are imo the best decisions that Riot has ever made. Reworking the champions in a minor way, adding fresh mechanics while still making them mostly the same as before is exactly what I like to see. I hope they keep doing these types of reworks to keep game fresh without having to use too much resources into a full scale VGU.

Meh Reworks: Galio Would be better, but like a lot of tank champions with a lot of CC became a problem in pro play, and Galio experienced many minor changes since rework and many major buffs and nerfs. He used to be an antimage like he was supposed to, then turned a burst mage, and now he's more of a tank support. I would like them to try and make him an antimage again, but as of now his tank support playstyle isn't half bad and he is better than what he used to be. Irelia Aatrox Urgot I'm grouping these three together, as on release of rework all of them were an unbalanced mess, (although urgot was in a good spot until pros realized how good he was). Most of them were nerfed and buffed and nerfed, until they had another minirework making them all viable and slightly easier to balance again, and now they are all in a mostly balanced state. Swain I thought he was a pretty solid rework, and I still believe he is, except when ADC's died and he took over bot lane, he was nerfed into the ground and has kind of been left there since then. Would be good, but I feel as if he needs a bit more love.

Bad Reworks: Akali No surprise here, an abomination since rework was released. They keep trying, yet keep failing, and for months she's been an unbalanced mess, with extremely low winrates, high banrates, and extremely high winrates in pro and for high elo players that know how to use her. They're still nerfing her despite having a 43ish winrate, which just goes to show how terrible this champion ended up to be. They really need to just rework her again, or at least give a mini rework like they did with urgot, aatrox, and irelia, as the minireworks they have been doing have ended up being quite successful for champions that have been problematic.

Well, this turned into a long rant, but just my opinion on some reworks. The ones before these champions I generally don't remember the old kits, so I can't really give much insight on them.

Subjective opinion time! Love to hear feedback on these. Not sure if anyone even slightly agrees with me, or whether I'm just a salty, grumpy gus greatly missing my champion.

FioraGalioPoppySwain Good/Great

Aatrox Evelynn Sejuani Zac Okay/Mixed (Sej would be wonderful if pro play would just quit getting her nerfed 200 times, although I miss the old raid-boss Sej kit. I preferred old Zac Q, it let him top in a pinch.)

Skarner Graves Lot of bad, some good. Lost all ability to do anything but jungle. Greatly limited available playstyles. Graves lost his cigar for like three years!

Akali Irelia Awful. Frustrating. Difficult to balance. Miserable to fight against. Gimmicky. Pieces. Of. Festering. Horse puckey. Who thought these were a good idea?

Kayle: As a former goldish/platish Kayle jungle OTP, I have never felt sadder, angrier, or more ignored. She is a gimmicky unsatisfying mess now that MUST be played top with klepto and a jungle camp or do nothing at all. A Kayle OTP who adored the champ can no longer stand her. PLEASE KEEP WORKING ON HER DAMMIT!

The support utility reworks. Like.. basically ALL of them.

Edit. I lied. TwistedFate Alpha builds removal was necessary.

Warwick The only good one. Anything after was completely shit and made the reworks overloaded, or overpowered. Or completely gutted Galio Swain

They need to completely stop with reworks... They're shit at it.

i miss old eve she "got the touch" i could play her all day and not get bored getting to master considering how she can ghost walk to a enemy and press her speed up to engage this one is all about burst and BYE. my favorite is kayle/warwick
