Nostalgia in LOL, why it should not be the basis of an argument, and why it's never happening anyway
I just read a post by Dr. Sona x Rubik. And it was a commentary on the game by comparing it to season one and two. And some of the arguments were fair, everyone would appreciate being a little tankier right? But in the end, the very basis of the argument was flawed, because very simply, Lol cannot be season two again, for a variety of reasons.
The first and foremost reason is progression. League has progressed an immense amount since the beginning of the game. Champions have been added, things have been reworked, and items themselves follow a very different path than back in season two. One of the main reasons and arguments that the aforementioned post made was that things were tankier, and there was less damage. But there is no way for that to be a reality anymore. This is because there is so much percent health damage. If anyone could build huge amounts of health, fiora and kindred and any champion on this list. http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4621182 There is just so much of it, and items can provide more.
So if building "tanky" becomes the correct way to build, every single one of these champions will become much more popular.
But why should nostalgia not be an argument? For the same reason that season two meta doesn't come back, because Lol has changed too much for that to be a reality, you are basing an argument off of something that quite frankly, won't happen and probably shouldn't happen.
Hey, who knows this line: "THINGS WERE SO MUCH BETTER BACK WHEN I WAS A KID", I have certainly grown tired of it, even though I don't hear it much anymore. How many of you are tired of it? And how many of you listened to it in a different form from Dr. Sona x Rubik?
Nostalgia has it's place, and if someone wants to make a legacy League simulator, they can, but it has no place in an argument, especially since it won't be coming back anytime soon.
