My dilema on champ picking

My whole long post got deleted. Time to write a shorter version. I recently picked up tryndamere, and did good my first two games (after that I did horrible) but a few days before trynda I bought zed. I played a few games with him and did, pretty bad. My death count would pretty much be higher at the end if the game. Zed seems like a champion that can do so good, if I could master him. I've been looking at yasuo, as I want to try to master him too. But I don't know if I should. Should I try? My friend has mastery 7 yasuo and zed... and he said not to play zed. And I still want to. And one more thing: since I'm going into a brand new school (no not preschool) there's going to be new opportunities to meet people. Since this is happening in under a month, should I learn Yasuo and zed? (Or one) I don't want to meet people that play LoL and then I'm the guy in bronze 3 trying to master 2 of the most difficult champs. (I simply don't want to be shot down instantly, I know this is something very strange to ask, but I'll just say one thing: I've had horrid experience of being put down along others, and down want that to happen again)
