Is why ryze actually terrible in solo Q(Winrate) , or is the skill cap just high ?

I started playing Ryze on my smurf , and my god he's so much fun to play! If you fall behind it's hard to get back into the game by 30 you feel just like a wave clear bot. If you get ahead though he's an absolute menace to society though lol. But honestly he feels like such a strong champion , Of the 9 games i played with him only one 4 of them . I know he's been gutted and reworked for pro play , but really is this champion viable for solo Q? Can he played for team fights , or does he just need to prioritize the split push ?

A bit of both.

Ryze's kit thrives in an environment where everyone is on the same level because of his ult (this is why he's consistently picked in pro play). And because f how easy gank setup is with him (E into W is no joke).

Then you have the fact that Ryze's kit is hard to master and execute in non competitive play.

I actually dont think he is so bad. His damage, 'tankiness', and wave clear are all very good.

Him not having the ability to perform a perfect ult isnt a big deal since his basic abilities are pretty good.
