Dumbest thing you did as a noob?

Hi Guys,

I was thinking back to my earlier days in League (early season 3), and I was chuckling to myself remembering some of the dumb stuff I used to do as a noob.

I remember when I first got flash, I used to use it to get back to lane quicker (yes seriously).

Also remembering buying 4 pairs off boots because I thought the movements speed would stack and I would be un-catchable.

Ahem, I got reported a lot as a noob.....

What about you?.

When i 1st played League on season 3 it was the 1st computer game i played.

So once the tutorial was over i played vs bots, i didn't know what PvP was so i played bots till i was lvl 30. Then my friend told me i could play against real people while i was bragging to him how i got to lvl 30.

The memorise :)

Thinking Ranked would be like Normals.

Lugg7/15/2015, 3:16:15 AM3 votes

Taking Malzahar as ADC. Ended up winning anyway.

Dasdi967/14/2015, 6:24:29 PM3 votes

I went heal/smite Ashe mid and rushed item 3004. I also just pushed lane regardless of what happens.

MudintheWater7/14/2015, 6:31:55 PM3 votes

Bonus: after I got my cousin into the game he played for a while without ever buying items. He was apparently under the impression that gold was somehow carried over into experience after the game to reward conservation, hahaha

First game I ever played I went up to baron when it spawned, I was only lvl 6 because I was jungle Ashe and thought ulting it would kill it. Did that for about a month...

A Sterling Bee7/15/2015, 2:43:38 AM3 votes

I would play Nasus not stack my Q lol and only buy item 3022 just 6 frozen mallets, god I sucked so bad LOL!

Aikki7/15/2015, 1:11:44 AM3 votes

I used to only put points in my strongest skill and save the rest so I could upgrade that skill more (didn't know you could only put 5 points in each skill/3 in the ultimate), so I ended up only leveling one skill. Also I didn't use the QWER buttons, I would click the icon and then use it. summoner 3

Qarekeo7/15/2015, 6:19:44 AM2 votes

I remember starting League around Diana's release. I figured the game was like TF2 where you pushed objectives without any concern and death wasn't a big issue, so I ran directly into towers to attack them without minion waves to try and destroy them faster.

Also, I mained Tryndamere back in Season 3-4 when he was extremely risky and put him in toplane with his terrible start and lack of utility. I remember smashing things out of frustration before I figured out he's a good jungler.

At least I got the rage thing down Tryndamere

Drakylon7/14/2015, 6:35:41 PM2 votes

I used attack move to get anywhere, 'cause I accidentally skipped that part of the tutorial and didn't know any other way to move. Which meant I couldn't chase anyone into a minion wave, since my champion would just start attacking the minions.

L Psy Kongroo7/15/2015, 1:29:52 AM2 votes

I took Smite on every champion because it helped me farm.

I was always confused as to why my champion would not level up beyond 18. I was under the impression that my champion would start the next game at the same level as it ended in my previous game.

I had to ask in several games what "leashing" meant. Most of the time people just asked for one without saying why, so I thought I was going to have something taken away from me, and refused.

I never bought parts of items; I either saved up for the full item, or didn't buy anything at all.

Buying tier 1 runes

MudintheWater7/14/2015, 6:06:43 PM2 votes

I used to take smite mid to use it on the enemy champion rather than ignite or something actually useful. Turns out I was just 8 months ahead of the meta XD

Swollwonder7/14/2015, 7:08:18 PM1 votes

"Who cares about last hitting, as long as I push the lane as hard as I can I can attack tower more and get it down. Objectives win games right?"

How I cringe

Pupel7/17/2015, 3:49:48 PM1 votes

I played without using hotkeys

KMannnnn17/14/2015, 6:19:32 PM1 votes

First game i remember playing, i just stacked a bunch of item 1055 on Chogath.

After I learned how to build properly, I never really did anything egregiously dumb, but I had the same basic noob mistakes like never warding, trying to constantly fight instead of farming, etc.

Taredom7/15/2015, 3:17:57 AM1 votes

In addition to what the OP listed, I played teemo as my first champion and thought that if i stacked shrooms, they would stack and kill someone, i also thought that i could equip the items i bought and use them over my default weapon, i was highly let down when i found out everything is for stats.

SwiftKitten887/15/2015, 3:19:05 AM1 votes

i used to builditem 3004 on Blitzcrank and try to carry

Airmez7/15/2015, 3:33:22 AM1 votes

Thinking Katarina was hard to play

Astrophysicality7/15/2015, 4:08:59 AM1 votes

I would buy items because they looked cool. I didn't know what actives were so yeah

magic pole7/15/2015, 4:35:10 AM1 votes

constantly engage bots (even once they were fed) in their minions waves at every level from 1 on because i thought this was a pvp game in the sense of WoW pvp or guild wars pvp or something like that

also, rush item 3031 on every champion because, hey, this item seems like it does the most damage of any item!

Hard4Hamsters7/15/2015, 4:55:43 AM1 votes

Bought Attack Speed runes for Ryze because I had trouble last hitting with him. Found out there are better marks for Ryze; used Rune combiner and now I have 4 AP Quints, then bought more Attack Speed marks for jungling. So much IP lost.

RisenDarkKnight7/15/2015, 5:10:24 AM1 votes

I was horrible at judging tower range. MY first 3-5 games I would just walk into tower and die . I averaged like 15 deaths per game most of them against bots

JustMyBassCannon7/17/2015, 4:15:05 PM1 votes

First game I ever played, I was Soraka. I had snuck into the enemy base, thinking I could break inhibitors before taking down the three towers in the way. By the time everyone noticed what I was doing, they were making Solid Snake infiltration jokes.

This was waaay back before Season 1. Only a few weeks after the game was out of beta. I even remember buying two Phantom Dancers on Soraka in that same game, because I wanted to be faster.

ChaoticPinecone7/15/2015, 8:27:32 AM1 votes

I took summoner 11 in lane before it was cool. . . . .....csing was hard.

Edyr4207/15/2015, 9:35:49 AM1 votes

-played full attackspeed alistar, because it looked cool. -used all my refunds -bought tier 1 and tier 2 runes -Kills>all -bought tear on almost every champion, because mana.

IamCloud7/15/2015, 10:27:24 AM1 votes

When i started out i think ZyraZyra was among the first champs i played.

I never used her seeds.

I never knew what they did.

I only used her other 3 abilities.item 3151

3tyson7/14/2015, 6:07:39 PM1 votes

i figured teemo would work best if he had some life steal cause i didnt have anny sustain on him also i ranted a ton to my friend about item 2041 being ridiclousely op

Vistha Kai7/15/2015, 10:40:40 AM1 votes

The dumbest I remember was item 3115 on Syndra, because I had problems with last hitting.

NamiMainFromHK7/15/2015, 12:36:50 PM1 votes

i bought certain items because i think they looked cool. no idea what they did.

when i was level 20, my friend told me to try out nami. in game they said to get heal first, and i said i didn't take heal with me as a summoner spell. Nami summoner 7

Catastrop7/15/2015, 12:46:05 PM1 votes

A bunch of the things I did kind of involve spells and items that no longer exist, but...Surge on Ashe.

Origami Kaiju7/15/2015, 1:34:22 PM1 votes

Bought multiple boots. Gotta go fast.

Frost Hellfire7/15/2015, 2:15:12 PM1 votes

I attacked the Baron every single game alone because I thought that I was able to do it myself. Then when I died, I thought that he wouldn't heal up and I just kept dying to him. Also, when people said "bot" in the Blind Pick mode, I thought that they would go to the Bots side and I didn't know it was actually a lane ;-; And finally, I didn't know how to support, so I always stole the kills and took the cs without buying any support items. I was such a pro gamer at the time.

John JJ Schmidt7/15/2015, 3:17:14 PM1 votes

Crap, I didn't hit Enter.

item 3078 Everyday, everygame. ...Yeah I died alot.

3tyson7/17/2015, 3:37:32 PM1 votes

omg i finaly remember the dumbest thing i did as a noob was this

i went in the midle of the lane playing Teemo waited til i was invisible blinded enemy than stopped atacking him went invisible again and expected him to not know where i was since i thooug he couldnt see the game since he was blinded

i was like hes gonne be liike wtf who atacked me ????? where did it came from expecting him to get full black screen ( blind u know )

i figured il just do this till hes death you cant fight what you cant see right

also i heard some people have problems learning how to play without locked screen wel lol i got introduced to lol by my friend and never even knew i could lock screen, so once i found out i tried my hardest to learn how to play with locked screen thinking it might be better since i couldnt make it work i just gave up lol

Bârd7/14/2015, 11:00:02 PM1 votes

Took ghost on Mordekaiser.

Thought I could double my ultimate.

and "Oh, potions? Eh, I'd rather save the gold"

Vincent Lucius7/14/2015, 10:59:29 PM1 votes

I went into about three games and tried to solo baron as soon as I walked by and it was up. I was not prepared.

OverpoweredSoap7/17/2015, 3:45:11 PM1 votes

I always built AS items first on ADCs.

Ashe?

BoRK first then Runaan's then Trinity.

I had the mentality that if I kept attacking really fast the damage would show up sooner or later.
