Singed QOL/Tweakwork Ideas
Okay. I've played Singed for a number of years now, and I think anyone and everyone has heard the stories: wow he's unique. Also, he kinda sucks. In the face of every new champ Riot comes out with having extreme agency (burst damage, insane heals, multiple gap closers, ranged cc, etc) Singed is constantly left in the dust. We're practically forced to proxy and/or completely rely on jungle ganks or enemy error to get things done in lane. Singed needs a rework. But Singed DOESN'T need a rework. He is one of the most unique champs in League, constantly making high risk high reward plays JUST TO FARM. He's tricky like Shaco, a walking meme like Teemo, and has incredible split and team fighting potential like Nasus (but without... you know... all the agency and damage output and ranged cc and ridiculous healing and..... ) Singed needs to be relevant, not reworked. How can we make it so Singed can stay Singed but be able to keep up with every new pick-or-ban Riot releases? I suggest some tweaks to his current kit as follows:
Passive: Noxious Slipstream -Draft off of nearby champions, gaining 20% movement speed for 2 seconds. (10 second cooldown) Let's add: -Scaling Tenacity (+4 per level, 72 at lvl 18)
Singed's entire kit revolves around running through and away from enemy champions. However, unlike many other heavily item dependent champions (Master Yi, Twisted Fate) Singed has no fast wave clear, or gap closers, or stuns to keep people off his back or from simply leaving his engagement (you don't leave a Darius/Renek fight if they wants you to stay, for example.) Singed needs a way to stay in the fight or get out when he sees that Lux pop into his lane. Scaling Tenacity would allow him to keep up with his enemies. Garen has Tenacity for days, AND he can brawl. Singed needs something better than to say "oh it's Morgana. Why bother." Or "look, Karma top. Maybe jg will let me farm krugs until I can afford a Rylyze."
Poison Trail
I say leave it as is. It does it's job. I'd ask for an execute on minions below 3% health, but I think that's asking too much.
Mega Adhesive -Leaves a sticky area on the ground for 3 seconds. Enemies on the area are slowed by 60% and grounded. If Singed flings a target into the zone, it will root them. Let's add: -No, ACTUALLY grounded. Pull abilities are not useable while inside Mega Adhesive.
Another issue for Singed is that his Mega Adhesive is a small area (Cassiopia can cover an entire lane, to compare) but makes up for it with a large range. Perfect for a little cc against that charging J4... oh no wait. Nevermind. He wasn't REALLY grounded. The point of MA is that enemy champs have no option but to walk out of it, and considering how small a zone MA has, that's fair. If Zed can't cast a shadow or Talon do parkour, Nautilus shouldn't be able to yank himself out of it.
Fling
Fling is way to expensive for what it does and the risk Singed has to make to himself (and often his team) to use it. Singed expends much more mana to farm than many other cast-type champions, and quite often he can run out of juice to fling or lay Adhesive before jungle can gank, or to escape when your opponent goes all in/the enemy jungle ganks. Change costs from 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 to 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80
Insanity Potion -Singed gains increased stats (30 / 60 / 90) for 25 seconds Let's add: -Singed gains ghosting for durarion of ultimate -During Insanity Potion, reactivate R to flash a short distance in the direction of the cursor
Going back to what I stated earlier, Singed is a champ designed to run around his opponent, but has to real mobility. No gap closers, no real way to maneuver other than to run. Everyone runs. That's not special. Hecarim running is special. Rammus running is special. Or Sion or Kled. Singed simply has basic movement, yet is supposed to be League's "running champion." This forces alot of players to take flash in lieu of teleport, ignite, or ghost, and marries us to the Sorcery runes tree for Nimbus Cloak and/or Celerity. Giving singed access to both of these things in a controlled way (during his ultimate) would give Singed more agency and allow players to open up to multiple styles of play. Rather than take flash as a necessity, we can take it as a precaution or aggressive playstyle, or elect to run ghost ignite since we now have the option to jump into or out of danger, like many MANY other champions can do.
I feel these changes would allow Singed to keep up with ever increasingly mobile, bursty, or sustain tanky champions Riot releases/reworks, yet remains true to Singed as a Champion. These changes wouldn't make him OP, nor turn him into a different character. We still gotta proxy, we still sill probably die more than the rest of our team (unless they're feeding) but these changes will allow Singed to run down enemies or escape from a forced fight, like many other champs can, and really feel like you're not just hoping that they don't pick Gnar or Jayce.
