Is there a reason I shouldnt do this?

Lately I've been playing with the idea of item 3075 and item 3123 on tanks characters like Rammus when facing auto attacks characters with lots of life steal.

Is there a reason I shouldn't do this?

If I recall correctly, Life steal is calculated post defenses, so reducing the enemies damage is going to reduce their sustain.

That in mind, Large amounts of Armor might not do the trick. 100 Armor will cut physical damage in half. (their by reducing LS by 50%,) but 200 armor only cut's damage down to a 1/3. (66% damage prevented, 66% lifesteal prevented) And that's compounded by the fact that a) Thormail is more useful when you already have large amounts of Armor and b) large amounts of Armor can easily get shredded.

But things like Randuins or Frozen Heart will decrease the enemy DPS in other ways. And that's your ultimate goal when trying to minimize enemy sustain is to minimize their DPS.

item 3075 is pretty standard on Rammus because of his kit but it's really not gold efficient for the armor you get. item 3123 is good for AD champs which Rammus isn't really. Most tanks don't build damage so that item slot would probably be better used for something else.

Thornmail isn't really a counter to lifesteal as it heavily incentivizes they build more of it (if they had no lifesteal it would be completely devastating to be killing themselves with their own auto-attacks)

Executioner's doesn't really fit into your desired pattern that well as most tanks don't get a terribly huge benefit from AD, and it only builds into Mortal Reminder which is definitively unhelpful against a target without a lot of armor.

item 3110 would be something that would dramatically reduce an adc's damage and therefore their regen through lifesteal, and also affect them when they're attacking your allies since their lives are generally more important than your's.
