@Riot Caitlyn is having some serious issues
I'll preface this entire post by saying that, While argument's saying that Jhin has taken Caitlyn's identity as the sniper adc are understandable and for the most part true they have also been said to death. These same arguments have only been given one response from a Rioter, the lead designer behind Jhin, Gypsylord. His statement was that Caitlyn is not less of a sniper and more of a sharpshooter. Right now Caitlyn's balance in the current meta and the foreseeable meta is very unhealthy for her.
Caitlyn was known as "the" bot lane bully. Her long range, late game attack speed and creative cc were what made her a fan favorite. I can not attest to why but she saw specific nerfs to her traps in the form of their trigger proximity and with the recent rework now has taken their damage completely. Further balancing was does to her Q, Piltover Peacemaker. While the rework changes on Peacemaker were a net buff for damage the cast time that remained makes avoiding it very simple for most champions that are not fleeing her. Now with her Headshot mechanic, (which in my opinion his the most fun adc mechanic ever!!!1) its early game damage amounts to little more than 2 to 3 of her already low powered autos. While that damage is fine on its own the necessary set up to achieve a successful head shot, (other than her free one every 6 autos) is very resource costly and a change could be made to help justify that cost. Caitlyn's E cast time is also limiting its use as an escape tool from rush down mobility creeps. While I understand their necessity, Caitlyn should not be expected to forfeit her life just because she is within 600 units of a Fizz, Tryn, Yasuo, Diana, Ekko, Zed, or Talon. There is a trend there. Assassins are in the game for a reason but knowing that I'm there target and I cant do anything about it the majority of the time is frustrating. Finally, before I talk about outside factors affecting Caitlyn is her Ult. Its low early game damage is without a doubt fair however, Its damage late game means nothing even its line of sight is clearly shown for every tank to intercept and take damage that will be regenerated in realistically in 6 to 8 seconds.
Now that minions and towers have been changed, along with the upcoming buffs to dragon rewards, games are on average significantly shorter than they were just 5 months ago. A large percentage of games are now ending around the 30 to 35 minute mark meaning that late game scaling champions are not getting paid their dues. These changes have hit Caitlyn harder thank any other adc. While Kog'maw and Urgot have lower win rates than her (We know that this is not usually a reliable statistic as it is stacked immeasurable veriables) she suffers more. This is because in the case of Kog and Urgot their kits and damage are to blame for their shortcomings in recent months, Caitlyn has been hit by poor itemization for her playstyle, the shorter game times and, changes to other already high tier ADCs that are now dominating her (Graves, highest winrate 3 positions for some justifiable reason the eludes me).
So finally, Rito please:
-Please don't nerf Rapid firecannon (a core, niche((on most champs)) item on her)
-Please make her traps scale slightly with AD, like 10/15/20/25/30% of bonus AD and make the traps slightly transparent after set up.
-Please make her ult hit slightly harder late and change it so that the line of sight can no longer be seen but its missile speed is lowered slightly to still allow counterplay as well has do 1/3 damage to the initial target if it is blocked by another champion, large monster or, epic monster
-Please lower the cast time on Q and E just ever so slightly.
-Please fix the bug with her autos not stacking Headshot properly, I've noticed it in the bush, having 5 stacks then shooting from a bush makes the next auto a Headshot thereby wasting the stacks earned.
-PLEASE RITO OH PLEASE GIVE HER +3 AD AND +3 MAGIC RESIST AND ARMOR
