Is thunderlord really that strong ?

Or people are just being sheep ? I can understand this mastery on champion that rely heavily on quick burst. You know like Leblanc,Zed,Talon,Sona etc...

I mean...i see some champions like Jax playing with thunderlord.I can understand that ,especially on him because of the fact that he's hybrid and can do sime quick burst. But fervor of battle still give some crazy result for a champion with sustained damage like him.Or grasp of the undying that give crazy sustain. I mean..these are just examples of course but i really think Thunderlord is good but not "the best". Clearly the easiest to use but that's it.

Especially for adcs (except MF may be) who rely heavily on their auto and sustained damage especially in late game.Having so much more ad instead of a pathetic burst(knowing you'll hit the front line most of the time) has made the difference for me and i'm running that mastery on almost all of them now. Sure ,your laning phase is a bit weaker, but at least my damage are a lot higher at mid game.

What do you think about it ?I'm asking this because i've seen many people wanting a nerf on TL when actually i think it's a fine mastery.

In 9/10 situations, thunderlords will be the most effective offensive keystone. It's easy to proc, and has decent damage scaling. Plus, a lot of champions have a natural synergy with it.

An experienced ADC that takes 4+ kills out of laning phase is almost always going to win the game. That's just how it works. If you take Thunderlord's and don't get a gold advantage, then you did waste bringing it, but you bring Thunderlord's to get the gold advantage in the first place.

It's also the easiest keystone to use. Just do what you normally do and you'll proc it each trade.

Grasp involves baiting a long enough fight to get several procs. Fervor involves keeping stacks. Thunderlords is just fire and forget

Mathematically it is weaker than the ferociry keystones, and graps of the undying. Just, overall the cunning tree is stronger than going all the way down ferocity or resolve so more folks go cunning. Since thunderlord is the only damage keystone in cunning, they all get that.

They are hitting the Precision mastery next patch; it was deemed to be on the strong side when combined with Thunderlord's Decree.

There's a bunch of balance changes on the pbe right now for the masteries here: http://www.surrenderat20.net/p/current-pbe-balance-changes.html#balance (scroll down a bit to get to them)

The thing is, I would love to take DFT but it only procs on spells therefore I cant do anything with it if I go with an Adc or a champ that uses autos, but If I am Vayne I can use thunderlord because it procs easily. If they made DFT proc on autos then it would be a good choice for any class of champ.

The thing is, Fervor of Battle used to be good until they made it only stack against champions. Now it takes forever to ramp up, when you are usually only doing quick trades for which Thunderlord excels at.

And Deathfire Touch is simply outclassed in terms of damage by Thunderlord's at most stages of the game thanks to its damage scaling with level.

Add to that the fact that precision is better than the %pen masteries unless the target has over 200 armor and/or 120 magic resist, and you don't really have a reason not to go Thunderlord's.
