Buying Rod of Ages in this season feels like a complete ripoff, where matches don't even last 20 min

Okay, let's say you play as a midlane mage, you want to have some hp, some mana and some ap, right? You think "Oh, I'll just buy a Rod of Ages" then you grind for 10 minutes, get Lost Chapter for your first back (it doesn't build into Rod of Ages but every mages literally needs this on their first back or you run out of mana with like 2 spells now after the "mages rework") then you grind again, get rod of Ages at 15 minutes, guess what?

The matches now ends at less than 20 minutes because games snowball incredibly fast that you don't even get enough time for your damn item to get to full charges, plus it literally gives no CDR, so you're wasting your money on one of the most useless items (this season) in the game because games can't even last 18/19 minutes let alone 20 for your item to charge and be remotely useful.

This item either needs its price reduced or its charge time accelerated or atleast get some CDR, there are far more better options with stats that mages can actually use (like the 20% cdr, 80 ap and 600 mana from Hextech GLP, which is only at 2800 gold).

Buy catalist and manage your Mana?

If you can't manage mana with a catalyst, you need to stop playing mages.

Try playing old poppy before you complain about mana.
