What was the thought process behind removing Butcher's Bridge entirely?

I'm legitimately curious. I'm not complaining about it being gone, but I am wondering why Riot took it away.

From what I've gathered, they removed it for the same reasons they remove Featured Game Types: so they don't get stale. Would URF be as fun if it were a permanent game mode? Some would say yes, but I'd wager probably not. But at the same time, we all know URF will come back. It's become a tradition to see URF return around April 1st, which of course is National Manatee Day, the greatest goddamn holiday on Earth. But how would Butcher's Bridge logically come back? On Talk Like A Pirate Day? There's no real promise that it would come back, based on a specific date.

Even more bizarre is that BB is an amazingly detailed and well made map. It's visually gorgeous. Right down to the things happening in the background. It's a spectacle, really, and the designers should feel proud of it, because goddamn it's nice to look at.

Well, that's the Bilgewater event over! Bye BB! You were cool while you lasted! Good thing those designers put their hearts into all of this! Bye now!

That just seems backwards to me. The idea of having both BB and the Howling Abyss maps rotate during ARAM games was tossed around, which even makes sense on a deeper level. Even the map is random! Genius! Perhaps from a technical standpoint, this would be a pain to implement a rotating map for one game mode, but I sort of doubt that. Then again, what do I know?

It'd be interesting to hear thoughts on this. Opinions people!
