What was the point of Aatrox's rework

His new passive requires high attack speed in order to proc it because his abilities are on such a high cooldown, but now his core item to give him that attack speed now only gives 25% of it??? Thought you Riot didn't like the triforce/sterak's bruiser stuff which is why you nerfed the balls out of it but now with the extra base AD you guys are literally pushing him into that. Aatrox building BORK is awful now because of his passive, and Aatrox building triforce steraks is awful too. What is there to even build on him that makes any sense at all?
