PSA: All lanes need to have eyes focused on the river at 2:00-3:00
Because of the large struggle for scuttle crabs, and the transition many jungles do for lv 2 ganks every single lane needs to keep their eyes on river and not the creeps. Usually a scuttle will die at 2:10-2:20 and if you don't have vision and aren't keeping an eye on the river it can be the difference between getting lv 2 ganked or not, but even more importantly it could be the difference between your jungle getting killed or getting a kill.
As it currently stands scuttles is a guessing game for the junglers, which scuttle is the enemy going to do and as such how does your jungle want to play around that, sometimes your jungle guesses right and playing safe (or risky if they want that engage), or they guess wrong and it can go south real quick (or they wanted a fight and don't have it, all the safer in this case). Often times the junglers can accidentally meet up at the river brush which is neither of their faults and neither actually knows what they want at that moment until they both have acted initially.
You will not always be able to save their life but you can possibly pick up a kill and a tasty buff or two for helping out a comrade.
Because of how much of a swing this kill/scuttle secure means, it can propel your jungle into an oppressive monster that doesn't let the enemy jungle farm, or it means your jungle is going to be camped in his own jungle which means he cant help you in lane, because he cant even help himself.
You don't need to have screen locked on the river but checking your mini map every few seconds to see what your jungler is doing and what is going on in the river will help you win more games, and make games more of a toss up if you don't make this important minute a priority.
TL:DR Place a ward, watch the river, save a life.
