Match Making Algorithm is Garbage

I can't remember a time in my six years of playing league that the match making system has been this bad. For the last four seasons after placements, I would quickly settle in gold 3 or 4. I was fine with this. The games were well balanced and fun. With this new season however, it is different. Games resilt in one of three outcomes:

1. We wreck the other team and they are completely outmatched.

2. The game is a grind and two or three teammates usually have no clue what they are doing. Teammates refuse to participate in team fights and show a general lack of understanding for the game. I will note, that the other team usually has a similar player or two that holds them back as well.

3. We get wrecked. All lanes around me fail and there is nothing I can do to help the team win as we are so far behind.

Last season and the seasons before, teams were well matched and I could rely on good team play. Not so this season. I am close to just taking four months off from the game and see if things are balance out. Maybe it's the new meta which seems to be going away from the hard carry. One player cannot carry a game anymore. This means a well researched algorithm is more important than ever. I hope Riot puts some effort into this.
