Sion's a fun champion to play but underpowered. I have several questions and feedback.

  • I would really like Sion's abilities to have all AD Ratio's. AP Sion's now even more gimmicky than ever, you just sit back and poke people with a 25 mana Roar of the Slayer when lane minions arrive, and you walk up to them and explode them with a .40 AP raito shield. Not nearly as effective as he was before. You can't build AP item's on him anyway, the two viable ones being the 2 spellblade items not named Lichbane. Spellblade Item's aren't an effective buy on him because his shortest cooldown is 6 seconds on his Q at max rank. And due to how Q works in the first place via charging it up, it's just not a practical source of spellblade ability spam damage.

  • Variable mana costs on his Q would be nice. It should cost very little mana to get a quick Q swipe, then variable mana costs depending on how long the ability is charged for.

  • Roar of the Slayer doesn't seem that useful. You max this ability last, and it's not very good for one point. The 20% Armor Penetration is actually not noticable at all because sion can't afford to build enough damage to make use of it. This will change however if you take my first suggestion and give him AD ratio's so that building damage is a bit more meaningful. But if not then I think this ability needs to be more useful at 1 point. He also deals a fair amount of magic damage. Maybe making Roar of the Slayer also cut down some magic resistance?

  • Sion's Soul Furnance is actually really awesome to use. It works well from the jungle. I max this first most of time. It's sion's only reliable source of meaningful damage.

  • His ultimate is too easy to avoid. I've seen bootless Anivia's dodge it when her wall is on cooldown. Increase the maneuverability of his ultimate by a little bit so that when you properly time the ultimate when the enemy doesn't have their mobility CD's up, and aren't innately fast, and you are aiming at their face, you hit them.

  • I think my biggest issues can be summed up as damage items not being valued at all. And because of that you're pretty much stuck building full tank + just trying to disrupt people with Q and R. But he can't disrupt people that well because his Q and R are super unreliable to use (way worse than cho'gath is). So you're stuck just spamming roar of the slayer on dudes attacking your squishy's or the enemy squishy's.

  • I get that sion's supposed to be unreliable and cumbersome and just zones people. But I think you went a bit over the line here on that. Make building a damage item or two valuable. AD preferably. I also don't think Sion's Q gives him a good area in which to position himself. I think the shape of his Q needs to change a bit more so that positioning matters better to sion and his enemies.

If only sion didn't have the lowest base HP and HP-per-level for a bruiser/tank in the game. He even has lower HP and HP-per-level than jayce, a character that is notorious for being squishy. Sions base stats turn his free HP into a liability, and he either farms a silly amount of minions to become an effective tank, or playing any other champion with a bit of CC would be more effective. He is a failure of a rework and it saddens me as someone who loved old sion.

i think you're trying to play new sion like old sion.. which is exactly what a Rework is.. perhaps play sion the way he's supposed to be played and not how he Used to be played

the hitbox of his R should be bigger

I don't know about you, but I've seen some really good Sions, some really bad Sions, and some really terrible Sions. From what I've seen from personal experience, Sion can either dominate the lane and wreck the enemy team pretty bad, or feed really hard. Then there's the Sions who are not "godlike" when playing Sion, but are team players and participate in Teamfights.

You can easily build Sion as a Tanky DPS, which I have seen quite a lot. The execution and skill of the player though is what determines what makes a good Sion or a bad Sion. For example, look at me: I don't play Sion that much. I enjoy playing him on scrims with friends to learn new characters, but I would not use him in PvP because I know for sure I am not skilled enough with him. I got the basic combos down to do a lot of damage, but my movements and skill is not fluid yet. However, if I played Sion against someone who plays Sion as a main, then I would get utterly wrecked, probably look like I'm feeding, and then get raged at. Likewise, if I played someone who does not know how to play Sion, it doesn't matter if we have the exact same build or runes. I would probably dominate my lane against the enemy Sion. I know how to play Sion, but not enough to say with confidence that I will win every game with him.

Basically, from my own experience and from what I've seen, build Sion as a tanky DPS. When I play Sion, I build him tanky and give him movement quints. I also give him a tanky build, and build at least 2 tanky items and the rest as AD. It's worked well for me so far, so try it out. You might be surprised. Experiment in Intermediate AI's and see what builds are efficient and which ones are not. AI's are there to help you practice champs you're unsure about.

sion is fine waht you ask for is either making him a new yasuo or new kassadin (a case of insane toxicity and opness )

he has lowe base hp early because he can have the highest hp late and its the same as the rest of infnitely scaling champs (nasus has low dmg early and high mana costs, veigar has medicore base dmg yet high ratios, thresh has insanely low base armour) and riot did it intentionaly, good sion will get insane hp fast while bad sion will make threads on this forum

his ultimate is easy to avoid because its also supposed to be, sion is a slow champion, he is not supposed to reliably close gaps

I think my biggest issues can be summed up as damage items not being valued at all. And because of that you're pretty much stuck building full tank + just trying to disrupt people with Q and R.

this is complete bull**** because sion can dish tremendous dmg while building full tank

this is a qq thread and you back your arguments by what you dont like instead of actual facts (he is kinda clunky but he is very strong )

I just wish people would stop choosing him until RIOT does something for him. He's such a hindrance to the team he's on.

Underpowered my ass. They've made him quite broken at this point. Don't even try to get another buff for Sion.

Maneuverabiltiy on his ult is about the only thing that would be helpful. As it is even on ARAM an entire team can dodge the ult with minions blocking mid lane with ease (even when I cought them against the wall they had plenty of time to cross in front me and out of reach on the other side). It doesn't need much and he will be able to clip those who don't actively attempt to dodge it.

Yeah, I just got owned by Sion, That Glory of Death seriously needs a cool down or a second longer delay on coming back.
