Bans and the amount of champions

Bans have always been an major role in ranked and the fact the amount of bans has stayed the same despite the increased amount of champions. This is very simply dumb. The amount of champions in season 1 ,as far as I can tell, were 60 champions with 6 bans ratio of banned champions is 1:10 or looking at it another way there is a 10% of champions are banned. Currently in season 6 there is 131 champions and the ratio of banned champions is about 1:22 that is a about a 5% of champions are banned. Clearly there is a major change as the percent of champions banned is halved.
