Is it really about death timers?

Or is it about turrets? 40 seconds should be enough time to maybe take a turret / inhib and get baron to finish out the game. But when turrets are so fragile you can just push and end it off of a single lost team fight seems like its more the turrets and not the death timers. Would make more sense (to me) to give turrets a bit more defense so your entire base isn't destroyed in 40 seconds.

death timers are fine. riot shouldn't adjust death timers in any way.

additionally, that team comp with the appropriate dragon buff should be capable of melting turrets at 30 minutes. games shouldn't take an hour to complete.

It was about both prior to the most recent patch where they dropped death timers; Now, it's mostly about turrets. The dragon buff coupled with the lower defenses of turrets makes it so they may as well be large siege minions. I honestly thing the game was perfect last season before they meddled with turret strength and death timers, and it's definitely shown in this season when games end up following the exact same sequence of things. It's always Lane-Team Fight-Ace-Destroy Mid. I've yet to see a game where the winning team takes over by pushing any other lane.
