The new match making system made me hate support!!!!
I love support. It's my second favorite role, with jungle being my main. In the old matchmaking system, I can always look to support to fallback on when jug is taken. In this new matchmaking system, I am a jungle primary, and support secondary, but I get support 85% of the time. This new system punishes secondary supports like me who chooses support, so we go out of our way to pick a popular role like mid, In hopes of getting our desired role other then support. With secondary supports refusing to choose support, it raises queue Time for everyone who doesn't choose support by a large margin. As much as I love support, I don't want to play it 85% of my games. When I complain on the chat that I am getting support too often, they always say "why do you pick support? You should change it to something else so you won't get it." It's this type of thinking that makes the number of supports dwindle more then it should.
LoL has been one of my favorite games of all times, and I thought I would never get bored of it, but now I'm in a dilemma of having to put down the game. In the past month, I pretty much dropped LoL from my gameplay time, and replaced it with Heroes of the Storm and DOTA. Know, that I don't mean to start a fanboy war in this second paragraph; I only state this because after playing HoTS and DOTA, I can't imagine playing those games being confined to one certain role, whether it be assassin, tank, mage, sup, ect. This is my issue with LoL. If I recommend anything to Riot, it would be to copy the match making system from HoTS and DOTA, where you show your pick to your team before you actually pick it, (not just in the first 40s, and unable to do it after the 40s, that just plain dumb and unnecessary.) It will give people a better chance to get their desired roles, all while making the teams more balance.
