A buff I think urgot deserves
http://www.op.gg/champion/urgot/statistics/top
Urgot is clearly struggling. His play rate is quite low, and his win rate isn't anything to write home about.
His damage potential is fine, especially towards late game, and his survivability isn't too bad outside of maybe the relatively mediocre shield scaling on his W (which is made up for partially with the fact that his damage scaling goes up quite generously, and the 30% bonus HP scale isn't all that bad, although it could stand to maybe get buffed up to 40% now that steraks is out of Urgot's grasp).
But what I really take issue with is that he attacks autonomously in his purge. Why? Why is urgot not allowed to choose who he can auto attack?
Yes you could argue it's for purpose of counterplay, that he should hit his other abilities first before unlocking the true potential of his purge, but I find that argument to be nonsense. Every champion has the ability to auto attack whomever they please, including urgot outside of his purge.
And no other champion who has an auto attack steroid (for purposes of clarity, let us define auto attack steroid as any active ability that enhances a champion's ability to get more out of their auto attacks, whether by enhancing attack speed, damage, range, etc.) of any sort loses their autonomy in this regard upon activating their respective ability.
etc.
The only other champion with an autonomous auto attack mechanic is
. However, her lunge will always prioritize champions as opposed to merely "the nearest target." So if both a champion and a minion are in range, but the minion is closer, she will still stab the enemy champion over the minion.
But not urgot. In Riot's mentality thus far shown, he must be specially crippled (heh) in this regard. He must not be allowed to choose who he auto attacks, and furthermore, he may not be allowed the privilege to target champions with his auto attacks over minions without going through an extra hurdle that no other champion must go through.
PROPOSED CHANGE:
Purge: Urgot autonomously attacks the nearest target unless he is manually commanded to attack another target in range (either through right clicking or pressing hotkey associated with the attack command and left clicking the unit of interest). Upon manually targeting a unit, urgot will continue to attack that unit regardless of whatever movement commands he receives until the unit is out of range or urgot is manually commanded to attack another unit.
Every other skill in Urgot's kit is a skillshot. At the very least we ought to be allowed to count on his auto attacks during purge being reliable without additional, uncessary hurdles.
