Is Ryze any good still?

Coming back to league after quite a while, i know about the ryze updates im not that old but is he still decent to play? Im was a ryze main and had i pursued this game he would've carried me to some decent elo's maybe. So like with the new champs and stuff is he still good for mid/top lane? And uh just saying this is coming from someone who spent a lot of time playing ryze not some washed up ryze newb na i had a good 3/4 of a year solidly learning and playing him.

If you understand his combos and timers then hell yeah. A Ryze with insane control of his Es is hell in lane and can really rock a team fight.

There's a reason he's not popular and loses often, but if you know the champ well then you should be fine.

Yeah, Ryze is still supposed to be absolutely disgusting in solo queue if he is played properly,

Before the new rune changes he was really strong. I haven't played him since the changes so I cant say for sure if he is now. But I'm pretty sure he is still.

He has a high skill cap which means most people will shun him because most gamers today lack the patience to learn him. Those that understand him and know him will abuse people with him and those that won't take the time to learn him will be the ones screaming nerfs.

Yes, he's still fine.
