How about locking champions to people in ranked unless you have certain experience with that champ. maybe this should be implemented in bronze and silver so you don't have idiots trying new champs for the first time in ranked.
I really don't think making people play normals just to play a champion they only niche counterpick with would make people happy.
How much mastery? I've got a good bit on a number of Champions now, but even locking it to mastery 4 would have prevented me from playing ranked for quite a while after I did. Having 20 champions at that requirement can be very time consuming.
So since I have every champ over level 2 I can play any of them anywhere I like? I've seen people with 100k, 500k, 1m do poorly in game... theirs even videos of the top mastery players being in bronze or silver. Playing a "brand new" champ would be a nice thing too see locked from ranked for a week but I dont mind either way.
