Comparing Similar Ultimates

When looking at the Ultimates of Jarvan and Camille they both seem quite. Both involve their character jumping on an enemy and creating a wall. However, since Camille ultimate features a near impossibility of escape outside of making Camille leave first, Jarvan's is escapable by anyone having a dash, a blink, or Flash.

I propose that even so, Camille's ultimate is not simply a better version of Jarvan's ultimate. Both of this ultimates actually have different purposes underlying them. Each ability helps to distinguish he champion and push both to different playstyles.

Let's start with Jarvan. His ultimate does 200/325/450 +(150% Bonus AD) to all enemies caught within his rocky walls. The wall itself is active for 3.5 seconds or until Jarvan cancels it. Enemies and allies alike cannon pass the wall, meaning Jarvan has to be careful when and where he ults as he can mess his team up as well as the enemy. Jarvan's ult is combined with his other basic abilities as well. He has a shield that scales off of enemies around him, an attack speed boost for himself and surrounding allies, and an AOE knock up and armor shred. Looking at all of this, his abilities make his a strong presence in team fights with many AOE abilities and team utility.

Camilles ultimate pushes all enemies out at the start, except for her target. Her target is unable to leave the boundaries or the ult until it ends or Camille leaves. Her ultimate also gives her magic damage on-hit for it's duration. Camilles passive gives her a shield based off of the enemies main damage type. She has an auto attack reset with true damage, a heal and a gap closer/slight knock back. Camilles ablities give her powerful dueling potential and splitpushing pressure. Her ultimate is a tool to give her a duel where her target CANNOT escape. It even pushes enemies away to give her a moment. Her abilities push her towards splitpushing and fighting enemies 1v1.

Now does any of this mean one of these champs is stronger than the other at the moment?

No, it doesn't.

It does mean that the goals of Jarvan and Camille are inherently different even though they posses similiar ults and both posses gapclosers with a knock back/knock up. At the end of the day both ultimates accomplish different goals.
