The unintentional power of Yasuo.

Disclaimer: I don't like making long explain posts.

So recently I have played vs a Yasuo as a melee champion. Not a big deal, he out scales me early, I was already gonna play passive.

Whenever he comes close to trade me with his Ranged Q. I instinctively respond by auto attacking back. However, if his passive is up, he not only blocks the first hit. But blocks the next 1.5 secs worth of damage done to him.

Meaning any trade back during that time is instantly negated. Afterwards he dashes back through the minions avoiding all damage. Since im a melee champion.

I understand Yasuo was designed to somewhat be able to trade vs ranged champions. But I think his kit gives him a unintended power vs melee champions as well.

The unintended part revolves around his passive not being popped instantly. That long wait time before your next attack can land, gives him a lead-way to escape or even prevent the follow up damage with a windwall. Making your trades near impossible at times.

This gives him a huge advantage vs a majority of match ups. And the only real downside he has, is the player playing him being bad, being camped, or hard CC. but that doesn't say much, when virtually every champion suffers from the same weaknesses.

I think Yasuo having a passive that doesn't break instantly gives him way more windows of power than a champion like him should have.

It's cute you think CertainlyT didn't intend that sort of raw power for his precious baby to make up for how much "more skill" Yasuo takes than other champions.

Seriously, have you never looked at the list of champions stamped with his name? The guy thrives on maximized strengths and minimized weaknesses in a game where that's a horrible design philosophy.

His passive has a long effective cooldown. Sure, it technically has none, but he needs to walk around for a non-trivial amount of time to get it back. Most champions have some way to break it before they all-in as well.

Looks like you were Fiora...You can dash in, hit with a Q or an auto, then just get back out. You have mobility on-par with his, and you only need to do any damage to him to break the shield. Dash up close-ish and use item 3077 if you want. Even if it only barely clips him for less than 30 damage you'll still activate his shield, and you'll have Tiamat back before he has shield.

Also, as Fiora's not a burst champion, and she has innate sustain, you can very much stay in range of him. Especially since your dash is semi-reset off of minions.

A champion might be overloaded if you have to say the word “and” 4 times for each ability. And has two ultimates.
