@Riot; Prismatic Barrier + Athene's interaction? (Lux W) Possible QoL change?

Idk why I've never bothered bringing this up until now, but Athene's doesn't proc the heal on the return portion of the shield if it's already healed them initially on the way out. This feels kind of awkward unless you're ranking Prismatic Barrier first. If you aren't ranking it first, but still build this item (which I do a lot since I only support), it's actually more beneficial to miss the first portion of the shield and run back in line to hit the ally with the 2nd portion to get a bit more healing.

Is there a specific reason for this interaction? Was it intentional or an oversight? If the latter, could it be changed to allow the return shield to use charges as normal on an ally you already hit with the first portion of it?
