Yasuo's Q - Why Is It Not Coded As AoE?

This "feature" is annoying as hell when paired with item 3812 on Yasuo.

Death's Dance includes a passive that heals for 15% of the damage done by abilities. According to its description, that healing should be reduced to 5% on AoE abilities. However, both Yasuo's normal Q--and his empowered tornado Q--heal for the full 15% on the first target they hit.

To answer my own question, it's probably because his Q is coded as an empowered auto which procs effects like Fleet Footwork, Grasp, etc., but this should seriously be looked into. Thankfully, not many people build this particular item over item 3072... Though when they do, I definitely notice the difference, especially in team fights.

It's single-target for the first target hit and AoE for all others. And as for lifesteal and on-hit effects in general, they're applied only to the first target; spell effects are applied to other targets.

You know, I'd agree with you, if you weren't wrong...

Yasuo's q applies on hits for the first target only. Any other target is treated as if hit by an ability.

So, how it actually works, is DD will heal 15% on the first target, and 5% for every other target. BT heals only on the first target hit. Same thing for q3.

Not sure about e-q, but I'd expect that it treats the e'd target as the first enemy struck.

If is true no surprise there just another hidden training wheel power on champion who is ridden with hidden powers for no apparent reason. This will be what 4 or 5 stance?

His Q also benefits from ravenous hunter, and with static shiv it gives him a ton of sustain in lane.

In general, lifesteal needs to be heavily nerfed for any champions that are not immobile tanks/bruisers.

High damage, high mobility or high range champs should simply not have the lifesteal they currently do.

And adding to that, remove the AD from GA.

One reason its coded that way is so he has to poke you through minions to avoid minion aggro.

If he wants to avoid aggro, he has to give up the on hit effects. Imagine if he could avoid minion aggro when only hitting you? Wave control would be much easier.

Interesting. So after further testing it is true that only the first hit applies the full 15% heal, though that's still an odd feature to me. Only a few champions have it on an ability that hits more than one target, such as MissFortune healing the full 15% on both hits of her Q (if they land). With Vel'koz, if I were to build Hextech Revolver, my Q would only heal for the AoE damage amount of 5% despite its first hit being a single target spell.

It would be nice if it was more uniform across the board, I guess, but definitely not as game breaking as I had originally thought... though he does still heal for a metric butt-ton thanks to his high DPS across the board. Thanks for the input all!
