Please let master tier+ use the old champ select, and here's why.

Note: This post is directed to the new champion select (the part where you get to select roles), because there is no point in giving my thoughts on dynamic queue as everybody knows the issues in it by now. Also I am currently in challenger (14 lp).

As you can see by my image, I even went "Fill" and still got a 60 minute queue time. This is absurd and needs to stop.

Why? Because the little amount of playerbase + SELECTING YOUR ROLES. Before, my average queue time was 5 minutes, now it is about 20-ish minutes. Legends say I am still waiting to this day. Anyways before you get paired up with 4 random players not matter the role just on mmr, but now you are basically stuffing a bowling ball into a water hose with the role pick. The lack of players are just never going to work with this idea, BUT it is amazing in lower elos because there are just simply wayyyyy more players.

Solution? Allow master+ players get the OLD champ select, it is honestly perfect the way it is since the low amount of players. And elos lower than master get the NEW champ select (allowing them to choose roles.)

This makes the most sense, because in Master/Challenger we know everybody, so we pretty much just give our role up anyways to the better player (just like the old champ select.)

TL:DR Allow master+ players get the old champ select and lower tier players get the new champ select, for better queue times and experience!

i believe riot spoke about long queue times a while back. while i get it , you guys have it rough , u play well but suffer long queue times. Riot addressed this issue by increasing the +/- in LP/Rank for a player to join those games. Chances are they will just do that again to help keep High tier Queue times down.

Yeah, at that level it seems kinda dumb. It's great Bronze-Diamond, but beyond that players seem to trust each other more and give each other their preferred roles.

Actually agree, Even in high diamond (1,2) everyone knows one another and is aware of who plays what the moment you end up in champ select and there's never fuss or real issues distrubuting roles amongst the five players.

I've never actually experienced any issues with the old champ select either, like you said , its perfect as it is.

And the dynamic one might indeed be helpfull for lower elos, since thats where the instalocking etc happens.

Either way I hope someday something would happen, the changes in the past got me stuck with mixed emotions about the game ..

this is exactly why rank is pointless, face it, you wont go in the LCS, we should all play norms and may the best win, its unfair for a diamond to play vs bronze true, but they cant do much but learn from it and the whole community elevate
