I'm on fire? Lux Ultimate

This is a request to make gameplay more clear. When you get hit by Lux's ulti, Final Spark, it deals a flat amount of magic damage and reveals the area briefly. However, for a short duration after the damage hits you, a flaming animation is shown on your champion despite no DoT from Final Spark. This has made me wonder if I was ignited, hit by red buff, DFT, or liandry's (but I wasn't, despite the animation)... just not a clear component of gameplay around Lux's visuals. Getting hit by a beam of light might produce smoking particles instead? Thoughts?

EDIT I know there are countless videos of Lux ulting, but here is a link to one. Stop it at 0:15 seconds and look at the minions that were hit by Final Spark but never affected by her passive. See the fire? Note the items in inventory.

NOTE: The burn animation does not seem to happen on every skin. The base skin's particles definitely have it, though.

she had deathfire touch...

at least i would think so, since lux ult doesnt leave a burn animation on you to my knowledge.

I think the fire is there to signify that is brings out a high intensity of light that it can burn.

One thought I had: What if it wasn't meant to be so much as "fire", but more along the lines of being embers? Only this wasn't shown as clearly in the final VFX for Lux?

It's not the first time that something like this has happened, if you remember what Morgana's soil used to look like, it looked more like black tar or bubbling mud than anything else. So on the same train of thought, this fire may only have been meant to be embers. Smoke is a good idea, but it might not be seen as clearly to some people.

At least that's my two cents.

luxs ult does leave flaming particles, i've thought of it as a being scorched in a close call, i expect that was riots intent with the limited budget they had back when lux was first released. its something that could be cleaned up now although its most likely a low priority.
