Kayle

I was just wondering why kayle saw such a steep drop off in play (I know she was nerfed but it wasn't that bad). IMO she's still one of the strongest characters in the league.

The nerfs really were that bad. She had to be re-buffed afterward because she was horrible.

Normal games bro...

thanks for the replies everyone. Here is something to consider though, ever since kayle was nerfed many other mids were too meaning that hers didn't seem as bad by caparison. Considering how the game has changed recently I think we may start to see her become popular again.

Kayle goes through cycles. She's OP, she dominates the meta, suffocating out all other picks in whatever lane she's currently played in. She gets nerffed, a lot of Kayle players get butthurt and abadon her, a new crop of players comes out and finds a new way to break Kayle, Kayle dominates the meta, suffocates out other picks in whatever lane she's played in. She gets nerffed...

For whatever reason, Kayle hasn't reliably held a top-of-the-meta position very long for nerf after nerf like Kha'Zix or Zed. She has pretty much always been a top rate champion though. For whatever reason, every time she takes a solid nerf most of her player base thinks she went the way of Olaf, Urgot, Diana, or Rammus though.

yay lets take your word for it. you've won 80% of the normals games you're played with kayle! that must mean something!

Well first congrats on your 8 of 10. It is normals, so it's hard to know if your opponents are similar skill level or not (e.g. for a smurf that's probably more than typical results). kayle received rather severe nerfs at first (half ap scaling on her e and cooldown increased drastically on r, and attack speed scaling reduced significantly). She was since buffed, her e ap ratio recovering about half to 3/4 of what it lost, which is probably why she didn't come back so popular (even though she's strong enough after the buff players probably moved on from her to other things due to the first nerf and since the buff seemed small they didn't bother trying again).

Also note her impactful ultimate, which if you haven't played her often you may not be prepared for which could aid you greatly (the unseen weapon is the deadliest).

I don't play her but I think her nerfs to the burst damage and maybe maokai top made her a bit weaker. Still amazing ult and damage.
