How hard is ryze for someone who says brand

I like brand and I've played a few ryze games and did ok but I don't think I used him to his full potential. Brand combos his spells and so does ryze. I see ryze as hypercarry brand with even more combos. He's still a bursty battle mage. I play brand mid and support. He's also one of my old mains from when talon and zed were being recognized as god teir. Brand's combos. Damage e>q>w Wave clear w>e Teamfight r>everything else. Ryze combos (that I know) Damage q>e>q>w>q Escape e>q>r Wave clear e>e>q Stop combo e>w>q (follow up with damage combo) So how hard is ryze for someone who plays brand.
