How EXACTLY is tenacity calculated and how does it work?

As of May 16 my friend and i have tried to figure out how tenacity adds up. We played a custom game and calculated the % values all the tenacity items and masteries. With the mastery it is 15%, with Merc Treads you have 30%, and with Elixir of Iron it grants 25%. However when you get all 3 of these % together it only adds up to 55% in game, when it should have been 70%. Why is this? (This was tested on Garen and Jax without the use of abilites.)

it sounds like each separate effect is treated multiplicatively by the values given.

15% means 85% cc length 30% means 70% cc length 25% means 75% cc length

.85 x .7 x .75 = about .45, or 45% cc length that's a 55% reduction in cc length in total.

They are applied multiplicatively (not additively).

For example, suppose you had Mercury Treads (30%), Elixir of Iron (25%) and Tenacious (15%) and were hit by a 2s stun.

2s * (1 - 0.30) * (1 - 0.25) * (1 - 0.15) => 1.4s * (1 - 0.25) * (1 - 0.15) => 1.05s * (1 - 0.15) => 0.8925s

The stun would effectively only last 0.8925 seconds (45% of its initial duration).

So when you look at the tenacity value in the character stats what would the value be? The value added to 55% when the value should have been 70%. How exactly is the Tenacity Value calculated.

I understand that tenacity is calculated individually when a CC ability hits you. What im trying to figure out is how the tenacity value itself is calculated like when you have Merc Treads, Elixir, and Mastery the % is equal to 70%, but when you look at the character stats it says 55%.
