Let me tell you a story

There once was a spectacular RTS game series. The first was riding on the new surge of RTS mainly started by starcraft, but it did exceptionally well none the less. Shortly after that, the game received a twin (not a sequel) and that did even better than it's sibling. Over the next decade, both the original and it's twin received 2 sequels each. Every game was somehow even better than it's predecessor, and had ground breaking new mechanics to surpass the rest with every new game. They engaged heavily with their fans and created what they really wanted. Until...... the fourth game. They had a naming contest to decide who would be the beta testers. Sure enough, I got a beta key, and immediately installed the game I was so eager to test. When the game finally installed, I immediately dove in and launched the game, but when it started there was something horribly wrong. Everything was different, from the units to the graphics.... They had sold out. They tried to make the game completely different from it's 3 predecessors that had excelled in RTS gameplay. But this..... they just decided to do whatever, and had the worst release in the franchise. This game received terrible reviews from both critics (except IGN who they paid off) and (previous) fans alike, and that game single handedly ended the entire game series that had the chance to go on for the next decade to come.... This game is of course Tiberium Twilight.

I expect this from EA, but you too Riot? I expect better.
