A little controversy about Yasuo

Hey all! I'm Natsuki, and i was just in a little debate with my friend about yasuo. Tbh, i was never really a fan of Yasuo because i've always thought that he was a little unfair to play agaisnt when i was playing a ranged champion (i mostly play ranged champions). So i wanted to ask the community what you guys thought about this champion, and how i should play when going against him but here are my thoughts ;(

So some of the things that i really Hate Dislike about yasuo, So firstly, he has a really Broken ass hard to play against passive, I mean like...he gets 2! Double crit chance and random wind shield? And another thing is.. i feel like having 6 dashes when minions are in lane is a bit....much? Lastly, This guy literally has an ability that stops ultimates and lots and lots of other stuff (this wind wall literally makes me really mad, even though he can make some pretty sick plays with it)

Opinions? And help T^T. I suck at laning against yasuo and i need help QQ Thanks! ;)

He's actually not that difficult to lane against :) He's pretty easy to shut down if you know how to lane against him.

A few tips I can provide:

1: You need to move. His Q is his only source of poke, and it's not that reliable unless you enjoy standing still. It's a slow moving projectile, and he gives obvious visual ques when his tornado is ready. If you see the wind circling around him, that means his tornado is ready on his Q. Be a little more aware during that time, and try to get him to waste it on minions. As long as you're moving (and not in a pattern), he wont be able to hit you easily. It's also slow so side stepping works well.

2: He can't spam dashes unless there is a full wave of minions. Best way to stop that? Remove the minions. If you're trying to go in on him with a lot of minions in the lane, then he's going to use that to his advantage to get away. Always be mindful of your surroundings and as to how many minions are in lane.

3: His shield is easy to break. Use AAs to knock down the shield before throwing more damage at him. Always remember to wait a second before doing so since the shield has a small countdown to being depleted.

4: Bait his windwall. Early levels it has a super high cooldown. If you bait him to using it by either AAing him or using a non-important ability (like an Annie Q, etc), then you'll be able to hit him hard without any protection. Also remember to move when he does cast it. Don't even blow all your abilities when he has it up. Always wait till after it's on cooldown.

5: His ult is tough for him to pull off unless his team is centered around knockups. Basically, unless he's in a group with friends, there's a good chance he wont have any extra knockups for his ult. Which means dodging his Q is VERY important in preventing you from getting hit for a lot of damage.

6: Yasuo is extremely squishy early game. Use that to your advantage if you're playing a ranged champion like Vel'koz, Xerath, etc. Most Yasuo's play very passively until 3, so don't be afraid to be a little aggressive before then if your champion permits it.

7: Always keep in mind that Yasuo is meant to counter immobile mages. Which means try playing melee champions or mobile ranged champions. Characters like LeBlanc, Fizz, and Zed can really hurt a Yasuo and stomp him really hard.

I hope that helps! He's honestly not that hard to play against, and is very easily countered by melee champions or mobile champs :) Also, don't let yourself get tilted just going against one. That will make you more prone to mistakes and not paying attention to when his Q is ready and whether he's wasted his windwall.

Good luck!

I just had a game where yasuos passive absorbed my headshot, it said -614 white.

So his passive can absorb 620 damage. Even if its 1 hit thats still kinda bullshit.

Ban him like the rest of us people that aren't gold+

So much pop his sheild with an auto but no one factors minion agro how long it takes to drop because the sheild is pretty large and that he just runs around while you have to back off to drop minion agro and hitting his sheild is like tapping him on the shoulder and saying get your windwall ready im about to attack you unless you can run around for 6 seconds

I think Yasuo windwall needs nerfs, like it can only block one projectile at level one, 2 at three, and 4 at max rank, also an ult should not be able to be blocked by wall, not at all fair that an ult with 140 cooldown is blocked by a 8 second cooldown W

His Q tornado should only apply stacks when it hits a champion, not minions

Ult needs a longer cool down

And riot needs to make up their minds on which passive they want

Yasou is most fair to ranged champion compared to melees he can q and dash around just out of range with

Tbh I never found his crit passive annoying. I just sort of accepted that his autos were going to do more damage than mine.

The only problem I have with him is his shield, and that's only because I play melees. Popping his shield is difficult if I don't go in for a trade, which just lets him get free damage on me. His level 1-2 is also pretty strong, which makes early game even more frustrating.

Shield: pop it with an auto. It's arguably the most unreliable shield in the game because it's free. Passive: Randiun's omen, thornmail, ninja tabi. Q: Dodge it and auto win trade and all-in. W: back off it so he can't engage of you, and if he tries to leave go pass it. E: Throw your skillshots at where his E will end. R: Don't get grouped in a line or position yourself where he can easily EQ you.
