Leona e + flash

Hi ! Since the patch 6.17 (iirc), the trick of using E and instant flash with Leona can not be used anymore. Was it intended or a mistake of the devs ? If so will it be fixed soon ? This trick could be very useful and i feel that the removal nerf Leona's playmaking potential a little bit. Thanks for you time and enjoy the game !
