lich bane would be better honestly, which is something u could sell boots for end game
Not really, but it's not going to be a terrible purchase on him either. It's meh. Better options, but there are much worse options.
It's not bad, but it's not that great either.
I mean if you go with a full ap scaling build - nashors, lich bane, ludens, then sure it works
Would probably be a better fit on Veigar.
But Gunblade could work. It just depends on how you play him I guess.
If you want AP, get a Catalyst of Aeons item. Doesn't matter which one. Otherwise, just go full tank.
Me personally I enjoy using this set:

Boost HP/AP making him a hard to kill nuclear bomb. The slow from Rylia's makes that extra MS from Luden's that much easier to avoid the enemy. And if for whatever reason the game goes too long. I replace boots with 
. 2 MS items pretty much counter act the movement loss and now your AA does 500+ damage lol.
It's fun cause you can gunblade + R and oneshot a squishy if they got no mr and you got roughly 1200 ap+ I kinda like it but as a last item. There's better rush and midgame items. You typically want the core 3 items morello raba void for insane scaling and then you kinda choose, off/def items

don't build that on him, it's not good since you need A LOT of AP and this doesn't provide anything beneficial to Veigar.
EDIT: without high risk being a thing, that is.
just go flat AP with the items, no AD, only AD related item to ever get is really just GA if anything.

the heals would be massive and you will one shot even tanks on top of running as fast as sonic
but early game. not sure. I mean the heals could be nice thanks to q, and has a quick nuke to power up your ult more. so I guess it depends on how you play and how fast you can q stack
I mean, imo, not really.
But you can always experiment and see what works.
Veigar likes to sit in the back, so getting close enough to use it would put you in a lot of danger.
