Someone can finally counter huge snowbally champion like Riven, Katarina or Jinx

I haven't seen a Riven or Kata snowball for some time now.

"counter" more like shit on using no brain cells. garen is one of the strongest and EASIEST champions to play. that doesnt make sense at all.

If he would counter ONLY them.. but instead he just counters EVERYTHING, which IS a problem.

Expected Cho'Gath, got Garen.

Well, the counter to snowbally champions is not letting them snowball. Just don't die in lane and you'll be okay.

If Garen actually played the role of countering these champions, he would be fine.

However, Garen is good against almost everyone right now. Unlike or , Garen doesn't need to build offensive items to get adequate true damage. He can kill the villain at 50% health with 12 ticks of Judgement and one Demcian Justice by himself while building full tank, regardless of who the Villain is and what he/she built.

Ironically, the old Garen was better at beating Riven than the new one. Old Garen had a stronger early game with the tenacity on his W and higher early damage on his E. Riven can actually go even against the new Garen.

As well, old Garen was also more effective at counter Katarina than new Garen. His silence lasted longer, and his tenacity helped him reach her even if he got hit by CC.

It is the same story against Jinx, except old Garen doesn't really counter her either, but new Garen is definitely worse.

Garen isn't even countering these champions any more. His current game play pattern is literally just killing the Villain from ~70 to 50% health with no counter play other than hard CC. Even Fiora, Vayne, and Darius has better counter play than that.
